Casual for a Cause - Give Kids The World - Ice Cream for Breakfast
My wife and I have been fortunate enough to visit Central Florida many times over the past few years. While in the theme parks and airports we often witness ill children experiencing their dream wish trips facilitated by many organizations. One thing most of them have in common is that their accommodations are at Give Kids the World Village – a place built to make their time on this trip memorable and hassle-free. “The Village” is a customer of American Hotel so I am very happy that we can help to support their efforts.
Give Kids The World Village is an 84-acre, nonprofit resort in Central Florida that provides weeklong, cost-free vacations to children with critical illnesses and their families.
Henri Landwirth, a hotelier in Florida, enlisted the support of colleagues in the hospitality and tourism industries to assist him in bringing special families to Central Florida within 24 hours if need be. He called the project Give Kids The World, because that is just what he intended to do - provide magical experiences with a vacation that means the world to children with critical illnesses and their families.
With the help of many generous individuals, corporations and partnering wish-granting organizations, Give Kids The World Village has welcomed more than 167,000 families from all 50 states and 76 countries.
Eating ice cream holds a special significance at the Village. For children who often live under a number of restrictions, the Village is a place that says “yes” to all of their wishes. One way in which this happens is at the Village’s Ice Cream Palace, a place where children can enjoy as much ice cream as they want, morning, noon, and night! To honor this tradition the Sales Enablement Team will be serving ice cream for breakfast at the Casual for a Cause collection table on August 14th.
