Give Kids The World Challenge for Hope

2017 Challenge for Hope

Ryan Covillo Always In Our Hearts

We’ve accepted the challenge to raise money for Give Kids the World Village. We love this nonprofit resort because it creates happiness and hope for children with life-threatening illnesses.   See the picture above?  This is Ryan Covillo.  He was 10 years old when he went to Give Kids the World on 1/9/1996 just 3 months before he died from brain cancer.  Look at the smile on his face!  Here he is eating breakfast in the Gingerbread House.

Every year, 27,000 children in the United States are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. Their lives become dominated by doctor appointments, hospital stays, and medical procedures. They miss out on school activities, sports, and time with friends and family.

Give Kids The World Village helps them reclaim some of that time.

It becomes a home-away-from-home for wish children visiting Orlando’s world-famous attractions. Children and their families stay at its 79-acre, storybook Village and are treated to weeklong, dream vacations. No child is ever turned away, and no family ever pays a dime. Last year, Give Kids The World hosted more than 8,000 families!

That’s why we’re taking on the Challenge for Hope. On November 11, we’ll join fellow Challengers at the Village, as we walk, run, roll, or stroll through a 5K that captures the magic families experience during their stay.

Thank you from all of us and the great kids you’re going to help!
