On February 8th, I’ll be rappelling 428 feet down the side of the Hyatt Regency Hotel to help make dreams come true for critically ill kids and their families. I need your help in order to make it happen! My fundraising goal is $1,000. Once I reach this goal, I can officially go Over The Edge.
The Village matters to me because it creates happiness and hope for children and families who need it most. I've seen this in action while working at the attractions and most recently while volunteering at the Village. As a non-profit, GKTW relies on donations and volunteer hours to make these dreams happen. I can’t think of a better reason to go Over The Edge.
The parallel between rappelling from a 32-story building and GKTW is that I'll be doing something that's challenging given that I'm afraid of heights. The kids who visit GKTW Village face fears and challenges greater than this all the time. Their lives are filled with hospital stays and medical procedures. They miss out on school activities, sports, and time with friends.
Give Kids The World helps them reclaim that time during week-long, cost-free wish vacations.
