We have decided to participate in the challenge of Hope and raise money for Give Kids The World Village. If you have never heard of Give Kids The World you are unfortunately not the only one. The first time we heard of this unbelievable place was when Evan received his Wish to visit Sea World and Disney. Give Kids The World is a nonprofit amazing place for children with critical illnesses to stay cost free and enjoy a weeks’ vacation with their family.
When we first arrived at Give Kids The World we knew it was going to be an amazing stay. We had our own one story house that was completely ready for Evan and our family. Upon arrival all of Evans medical supplies were ready for him when we walked in the door. Since we went in December, they had fully decorated our house and we had our own Christmas tree in the living room. Every morning the characters from Disney World, Nickelodeon and Sea World would stop by the village to see the kids and take pictures before heading out to their parks. Evan was given a Mickey Mouse plush doll and marker so he could collect all the characters signatures. He was also given a signature book for autographs.
During our stay at Give Kids The World Village there were professional photographers that would capture memories for us and provided a memory book to us at the end of our stay. Once we would arrive back at the village Evan would have a present waiting for him every night. They coordinated constant activities throughout the day for families to participate in to ensure all families were entertained. Santa visited the the village for a special surprise.
The memories and smiles we shared throughout our stay at Give Kids The World can never be replaced. Evan’s Mickey now sits on a shelf in his room completely covered in autographs from so many characters. The pictures are now memories of the great time we had as a family enjoying a wonderful vacation. I cannot say enough about this wonderful place.
Since Give Kids The World has given so much to my family we would love to give back to them. This is why we have decided to participate in The Challenge Of Hope 5K. We will be raising money and racing with fellow Challengers as we all walk, run, roll or stroll through the Village. But we can’t do it without your help. 92% of all funds go directly to the children and families that Give Kids The World serves.
Thank you for supporting Evan, my family, and for assisting this wonderful organization to continue to provide amazing memories for future families.
