I’m thrilled to be a part of this inaugural event benefiting Give Kids The World Village. When it’s done, I’ll have a fantastic story to tell — 32 stories, to be exact.
On February 9, I’ll be rappelling down the side of the Hyatt Regency Hotel. With other fundraisers, I’ll descend 428 feet straight down to help make dreams come true for critically ill kids.
It seems crazy, but it’s nothing compared to what the kids at Give Kids The World Village face. Their lives are dominated by hospital stays and medical procedures. They miss out on school activities, sports, and time with friends.
Give Kids The World helps them reclaim that time.
It’s a home-away-from-home for wish children visiting Orlando’s world-famous attractions. Children and their families stay at the nonprofit, 84-acre, storybook resort and are treated to weeklong, dream vacations. No child is turned away, and no family ever pays a dime. Last year, Give Kids The World hosted nearly 8,000 families!
The Village matters to me because it creates happiness and hope for children and families who need it most. I can’t think of a better reason to go Over The Edge.
But I need your help. To make a tax-deductible donation, click the big green "Donate Now" button. Any questions, just ask me.
Thank you from me and the kids you’re going to help!

Why I am doing this?
Thanks so much for taking the time to visit my page & learn more about this event and the cause I am proud to represent!
I work at Walt Disney World & have encountered so many families from the Make a Wish Foundation. They are just glowing when they arrive at the park! They are so deserving of a magical day. These families stay at the Give Kids the World Village. I love that I can help an organization that makes dreams come true. These children & their families are more than deserving of any bit of happiness they can have considering the challenges they have to face daily.
I think my family and boyfriend feel like I am a little crazy for doing something that seems dangerous. I love anything that involves heights! Sky diving, parasailing, hang gliding, & rock climbing, so this is perfect! I think my late brother, U.S Navy SEAL, and the ultimate risk taker & adventurer would want me to do this for sure! He would never let anything anyone said ever stop him from the next thrill. He did things in life most others only dream of doing & I admired him for it. Who wants to do a fundraiser like a 5k or 10k that involves running like so many others anyway? Certainly not me! I hate running! I would much rather do this.
I don't have children, but I did spend 10 years in the teaching profession. I can't even imagine how a family copes with a child with a terminal illness. I do know that I admire those children & families for many of the same reasons I admired my brother; for their courage & strength & determination to make the most out of life.
