Welcome to My Personal Page
Hey everyone! Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I've been a part of Hearts of Reality since 2009. Each year when I go down to Florida and participate in Hearts of Reality, I've had an opportunity to meet families at Give Kids the World, hear their stories, pray with them, and even laugh with them! You wouldn't believe some of the stories I've heard - stories of hope, healing, heartbreak, faith and strength.
I know you have probably heard of fundraisers where it's just a bunch of reality stars partying and being crazy (we tend to have a reputation). THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE EVENTS. Yes, there is a time to party, get crazy and have some fun...but the main reason we do this every year is because we've been touched deeply by the purpose of this event.
Every year when I see new reality stars come to participate, they sit through an introduction about GKTW, hearing stories, seeing the families up close as they invite us into their lives. There is rarely a dry eye in the house. Even some of the big, famous, manly Survivor guys shed tears. How can you not? This is not a reality show we are a part of here...it's REALITY. And it's raw and hard and beautiful and purposeful. Who wouldn't want to be a part of that?
I want to invite you to join us in making a big difference this year. It doesn't take much. I encourage you to even visit GKTW if you are ever down in Celebration, FL! They would LOVE to show you around, and may even put you to work as a volunteer. ;)
Thank you for helping. Thank you for praying. God is doing something big at GKTW. I'm so thankful I can be a small part of it.
About Give Kids The World Village
When a child is diagnosed with a critical illness, a family’s world turns upside down. At Give Kids The World Village, we help them find their footing. Medical treatments and hospital visits are replaced with nightly parties, ice cream for breakfast, and hugs from a six-foot rabbit. Guests visit Orlando’s world-famous theme parks, play in a sparkling splash park, and celebrate Christmas and Halloween every week. It’s a chance for kids to be kids and for families to spend much-needed time together.
