As most people know, I am absolutely TERRIFIED of heights! However, on February 9, I will be rapelling 32 stories/428 feet straight down the side of the Hyatt Regency Hotel. That's right a hotel. Right here in Orlando in the heart of the touristy section.
Why would I do that you ask? Simple - to raise money to benefit the Give Kids The World Village, a place that helps make dreams come true for critically ill kids.
It seems crazy, but it’s nothing compared to what the kids at Give Kids The World Village face. Their lives are dominated by hospital stays and medical procedures. They miss out on school activities, sports, and time with friends.
Give Kids The World helps them reclaim that time.
It’s a home-away-from-home for make a wish children wanting to visit any of the central Florida attractions. Children and their families stay at the nonprofit, 84-acre, storybook resort and are treated to weeklong, dream vacations. No child is turned away, and no family ever pays a dime. Last year, Give Kids The World hosted nearly 8,000 families!
The Village matters to me because it creates happiness and hope for children and families who need it most. I've volunteered at many places throughout the Village and I can’t think of a better reason to go Over The Edge.
But I need your help. To make a tax-deductible donation, click the big green "Donate Now" button. Any questions, just ask me.
Thank you from me and the kids you’re going to help!
