On February 14, 2020, with the your help, I’ll be rappelling 428 feet down the side of the Hyatt Regency Hotel to help make dreams come true for critically ill kids and their families. I need your help in order to make it happen! My fundraising goal is $1,000. Once I reach this goal I can officially go Over The Edge. If I make $2,000, I can go over the edge with a camera and share the experience with you.
The Village matters to me because it creates happiness and hope for children and families who need it most, just like it did for our family twenty years ago when our youngest son was diagnosed with leukemia and we were honored with our Make A Wish trip to the Village. We can personally attest to the difficulty of going on a normal vacation with a sick child and siblings. Even though our story did not have a happy ending, we are still compelled to come back to the Village as volunteers to pay it forward. Even though we are there to give back, we continue to recieve in ways I can't explain from the children and families that now visit the Village. We have many great memories from our week there. I can’t think of a better reason to go Over The Edge.
Kids who visit Give Kids The World Village face many challenges daily that are far greater than this. These kids are all ages and conquer many things that most adults never dream of. Their lives are filled with hospital stays and medical procedures. They miss out on school activities, sports, and time with friends. Most of them would just like to live a normal life and can't.
Give Kids The World helps them reclaim that time during week-long, cost-free wish vacations thanks to events like this and people like you.
